Crazy cycling (non-) PB

I found this one quite funny given that I cycle to and from work every day, so that’s at least 10 cycling activities every week! Do you record all of your cycling activities? Save

Monday Morning Motivation – Do you have a motivation page?

Do you use any tips or tricks to help keep your motivation going? Maybe you have a motivation wall, or perhaps a medal display to remind you of your achievements. Some people create montages that help them to visualise where they want to be in the future. This motivation page is a template to help you set out your goals....

Monday Morning Motivation – Way to go!

Steve Way is a hugely inspirational man, who was an unhealthy and overweight smoker just 7 years ago, but who is now going to represent England in the Commonwealth Games. You can read his amazing story here: Meet Steve Way – England’s unlikeliest athlete for the Commonwealth Games. Amazingly, not only does Steve hold down a full-time job whilst running over...

Six ferries, 100km, seven mad people and a few kilos of cheese…

Exactly a year ago today, I went on a brilliant adventure with a group of friends (aka Bike Gang). I part wrote a blog post and by the time I got around to finishing it, the spontaneity was lost, so I decided that I’d schedule it for a year on from the event, so here it is… Ferry 1: Southampton...

Monday Morning Motivation – Weight loss

I’ve blogged a lot about my progress with swimming, cycling and running in the 18 months since I started this blog. However, I don’t blog as often about my weight loss and nutrition. This is because it’s the hardest area of my life for me to tackle. What can you say to me to help me lose weight?

My first Olympic Distance Triathlon

My first Olympic distance triathlon was the GU Energy Weymouth Bay Triathlon. As it was in Weymouth and started at a typically early time, Stu and I had to get up at 4:45am. We ate breakfast and then drove to Weymouth, where we parked the car and went to register. It was our first Bustinskin event and we were impressed...

Monday Morning Motivation – Heather Dorniden

Now married and a professional middle distance runner known as Heather Rae Kampf, Heather Dorniden is well-known on the internet for a 600m race back in 2008, where she fell, but got back up and went on to win the race. Many people in Heather’s position would have given up, but she was determined to finish the race and says...

Hi, I'm Tamsyn!

Triathlete | Blogger | Running Coach & Fitness Instructor

As an overweight couch potato, I decided to turn my life around. I lost over 33lbs/15kg and now love keeping fit and healthy. In February 2013, I set myself a challenge to complete an iron-distance triathlon (2.4 mile/3.8k swim; 112 mile/180k bike; 26.2 mile/42.2k run).

Since starting my triathlon journey, I’ve:

  • learnt to swim and completed a 17.5km sea swim
  • bought my first road bike and cycled across Japan
  • run six marathons.
  • had a baby.

  • I’ve not completed an Ironman yet… but I’m getting there.
