Day 1 of Pyrenees Tri Camp with Embrace Sports

It’s been a while since I’ve had a break, so I was really looking forward to our second Tri Camp with Embrace Sports. The day before, Tobie from BikeGuy came over to help Stu and I disassemble our bikes and pack them in our cases. As we’ve both had bike fits, we had to mark settings very carefully. You can...

I’m a Challenge Weymouth winner!

A couple of weeks ago, I took part in a Twitter competition to win a limited edition Challenge Weymouth t-shirt. I had forgotten all about it when this appeared in my inbox: …and this week it arrived! It’s going to be perfect for doing some training in 🙂 Have you ever won a competition? What did you win?

Time to waste? Check these out…

I’m really struggling with hayfever at the moment, which isn’t making my life easy. I’ve been going to bed at a reasonable time, but am struggling to breathe. When the wheezing gets too bad, I end up getting up as I can breathe more easily when I’m in an upright position. This means that I usually end up downstairs on...

Season’s best for running

My running has not been going well recently (by recently, I mean the last two years), but I am determined to do something about it, so now that Brighton Marathon is over, I’ve rehauled my training schedule and have started planning for Challenge Weymouth 70.3. I have the slightly optimistic goal of finishing the run in under 2:15, which is...

Good Fri Tri

Good Fri Tri was my first triathlon of the year and my second triathlon with a pool swim. I hated my last pool-based triathlon (Ferndown Try-a-tri), so I was hoping to lay that ghost to rest. An early start We got up at 5am, and I knew that I move to move quickly as I hadn’t packed all of my...

Possibly the longest transitions imaginable…

My employer is very generous, so as well as having Good Friday and Easter Monday off work, I also have today and Thursday off, which means that I have some time to catch up with training, blogging, coaching planning and housework. My new coaching schedule said that I needed to do 90 minutes of swimming, 90 minutes of cycling and...

Best bike ride ever!

It’s been another busy week with some swimming, baking and the New Forest Spring Sportive. After all of my training recently, my lovely husband bought me a beautiful bouquet of Oriental lilies. They are my favourite flowers and they smell gorgeous. Saturday swim On Saturday morning, I decided to go swimming instead of running. I’ve only been swimming with the...

A Promise to Dad

This week’s interview is with Sandra from ‘A Promise to Dad‘. Sandra has been blogging about her life and training in Nebraska following the loss of her father in 2011. Sandra shares her adventures as a swimmer, cyclist and runner, including lots of lovely photos in the mix. I’ve been holding onto this fantastic interview for a while as I...

I’ve moved!

Woohoo – the information for my next race has arrived! I’ve got a sportive this weekend and then I’m doing my first triathlon of the year – Try Tri’s Good Fri Tri. I hated my last pool-based, but I get less stressed about swimming in close proximity to other people now, so I’m hoping that it will go well. I...

Hi, I'm Tamsyn!

Triathlete | Blogger | Running Coach & Fitness Instructor

As an overweight couch potato, I decided to turn my life around. I lost over 33lbs/15kg and now love keeping fit and healthy. In February 2013, I set myself a challenge to complete an iron-distance triathlon (2.4 mile/3.8k swim; 112 mile/180k bike; 26.2 mile/42.2k run).

Since starting my triathlon journey, I’ve:

  • learnt to swim and completed a 17.5km sea swim
  • bought my first road bike and cycled across Japan
  • run six marathons.
  • had a baby.

  • I’ve not completed an Ironman yet… but I’m getting there.
