Round up of my first week of a crazy year

2015 is going to be a crazy hectic year as I’ve set so many goals for myself. I’ve already got back to some training, but I can’t train outside on my bike at the moment. I’m also not back to swimming yet, so I’ve been doing a lot of running. One goal is to inspire new runners. I have been focusing...

OK, so I’ve posted a few times about New Year’s Resolutions. I’ve also taken part in various debates online about whether or not they work. Whatever you think, there’s nothing stopping you from trying to change your life. Doing it one small step at a time is a move in the right direction. In 2014, I was contacted by the...

Giveit100 – what am I focusing on?

I’ve started my Giveit100 challenge today: I’m going to focus on healthy eating and making sensible food choices for 100 days. This morning I weighed myself. The scales read 67.2kg, which is 148lbs or 10st 8lbs. It’s not horrendous, but my goal weight is 10kg (22lbs) lighter, as I want to weigh 126lbs or 9st. I got down to that...

A slow start to January

I went out for my first run since I had laser eye surgery yesterday. I’ve been desperate to go out for a run. I didn’t want to push too hard and was looking to have a social run, but I didn’t see anyone I knew who was going to be running at a conversational pace – possibly because it was...

My goals for 2015

I’ve spent the last couple of days discussing the races and events that I want to enter in 2015. Stuart is a firm believer in quality over quantity, whereas I want to enter everything! I quite enjoy doing cross-country running and usually do some of the local cross-country series (CC6) but Stu doesn’t want to risk injury; also he is...

Monday Morning Motivation – Find your greatness

Greatness. It’s just something we made up. Somehow we’ve come to believe that greatness is a gift reserved for a chosen few. For prodigies. For superstars. …And the rest of us can only stand by watching You can forget that. Greatness is not some rare DNA strand. It’s not some precious thing. Greatness is no more unique to us than...

Ask me anything

I’ve decided to put myself on the line. I’m giving you the chance to ask me anything in a completely anonymous way. I’ve not tried anything like this before on my blog, so I’m hoping it works out!

New Year’s Resolutions – is it worth making any?

My New Year’s Resolutions: in 2015, I will be: Yeah, right. With an estimated 14.5 million adults making New Year’s resolutions that focus on fitness and health, self-improvement (or, at least, the desire for self-improvement) is a national hobby here in the UK. Yet very few of us – some estimates say only around 8% – achieve our New Year’s...

Hi, I'm Tamsyn!

Triathlete | Blogger | Running Coach & Fitness Instructor

As an overweight couch potato, I decided to turn my life around. I lost over 33lbs/15kg and now love keeping fit and healthy. In February 2013, I set myself a challenge to complete an iron-distance triathlon (2.4 mile/3.8k swim; 112 mile/180k bike; 26.2 mile/42.2k run).

Since starting my triathlon journey, I’ve:

  • learnt to swim and completed a 17.5km sea swim
  • bought my first road bike and cycled across Japan
  • run six marathons.
  • had a baby.

  • I’ve not completed an Ironman yet… but I’m getting there.
