Still waiting

Well, I’m still waiting for Mini-Me to arrive, but she seems to be as stubborn as Stuart/determined as me! I’ve eaten plenty of spicy food, but there’s a limit to how much curry/fajitas/chilli I can take! I’ve also eaten a lot of fresh pineapple, but apparently pregnant women need to eat at least 7 for the bromelain to have any...

This week I did something that broke my heart

[written 6th May 2016] I found out that I was pregnant a while ago, but decided not to cancel all of my race entries immediately, in case something went wrong. However, Ironman has strict deadlines relating to withdrawing from races and refunds. In order to receive a 50% refund (the maximum possible), I had to withdraw from Ironman Weymouth 70.3...

As an overweight couch potato, I decided to turn my life around. I lost over 33lbs/15kg and now love keeping fit and healthy. In February 2013, I set myself a challenge to complete an iron-distance triathlon (2.4 mile/3.8k swim; 112 mile/180k bike; 26.2 mile/42.2k run).

Since starting my triathlon journey, I’ve:

learnt to swim and completed a 17.5km sea swim

bought my first road bike and cycled across Japan

run six marathons.

had a baby.

I’ve not completed an Ironman yet… but I’m getting there.
