Please help to save some of my heritage

Jubilee Lido in Penzance

I try to keep my blog focused on the training that I’m doing (whether swimming, cycling, running, yoga or other exercise) or my diet, but today I’m posting about something a bit different.

Jubilee Pool.

Today I want to write about the Jubilee Lido in Penzance, Cornwall. I first blogged about it when I visited last summer and completed an aquathlon there. Then I blogged about it again when the UK suffered devastating storms earlier this year. It is a beautiful open-air pool that is filled with sea water.

The Jubilee Lido in a storm.

The Jubilee Lido has a special place in my heart for many reasons. I will be just one member of the community who will be deeply upset if this beautiful outdoor pool cannot be restored for future generations to enjoy it.

I’m appealing to everyone who reads my blog to sign a petition asking the local Council to match funding from other sources to help save this beautiful Art Deco pool. [The appeal has now closed, but you can donate to the Jubilee Pool online].

If you would like to follow the campaign, please visit the Facebook page.

There is also a website: http://www.jubileepool.co.uk/

Thank you 🙂

Update on Jubilee Lido

The pool has been saved. Hurray! This is the boost that the local economy needs.
