Would you like to know what was in my parcel?

Well, this is going to be a short post as it’s already late for me and tomorrow is going to be another long day.

I was up early this morning ready to get my parcel. I realised last night that although I responded to the email I received from SOAS almost immediately, the likelihood that international postal services would deliver my kit faster than people waiting for domestic delivery was a little crazy, however the arrival of an international parcel is still cause for excitement.

I cycled up to the Post Office before work and collected a medium-sized box. There was no indication of its contents on the outside, but I forced myself to hold onto it before getting to work. Unfortunately, as the Post Office is not on my usual way to work, I had to decide how to cycle there. I managed to take a wrong turn or twenty, which was fine… until it started to rain… then it rained harder… then the rain turned to hail… and I didn’t have waterproof trousers on 🙁

I arrived at work and put my box on my desk. I had to make a decision about whether to open the box or deal with my wet jeans. I always have a spare set of exercise clothes in my desk drawer, so I thought that would be a simple solution, however, I hadn’t considered the fact that this morning I chose to put on lilac ski socks with snow flakes on them and the leggings I had in my drawer were cropped, so I thought I’d better keep on my jeans… but at least that meant I could open the box.

I peeled off some sellotape to reveal…

…a box packed with 100 pairs of Sweat Pink shoelaces 😀

Yay! How exciting! I’m thrilled that they have arrived so quickly. I’m starting a beginners running group at work, so it’ll be great to be able to hand these out to my new runners!

Lots of pairs of laces

Run faster

So, my parcel wasn’t what I had initially thought, but it was something absolutely brilliant that I hope will help to inspire others to lace up their shoes and go for a run!

That’s about all I’ve got time for tonight – I spent nearly 13 hours at work today… and then got hailed on again whilst cycling home. What did I do to deserve that?!! The image below pretty much sums up how I feel about the British weather at the moment!!!
