    • I firmly believe that it’s never too late to learn to swim. When I started to learn to swim (2 years ago) my poolmates were regularly people in their 60s… and many of them made better progress than me. When I decided that I needed to learn to swim, I couldn’t even put my face in the water, as I was too frightened, but I persevered and remember how delighted I was the first time I managed to swim a length of ‘front crawl’ (it probably didn’t look like front crawl to anyone else). My goal now is to complete a swim-walk challenge in September (17k/10.5 mile swim; 10k/6 mile walk). If I don’t manage it, at least I’ll know that I’ve tried my best 🙂

      • This is a huge encouragement. Thank you so much. There is a lap pool in my gym, I only go in it if there is no one using it. Just timid with strong swimmers around. I know I need to overcome this, just persevere, and look forward to improvements (which there has been already) Thank you so much for this response. really means a lot! 🙂
